The Qatar Nationalisation Award actively drives private-sector participation and rewards national talent. Furthermore, it highlights Qatar’s commitment to workforce development.
The Ministry of Labor (MoL) launched the Qatar Nationalisation Award to encourage private companies to hire more Qataris. The award recognises outstanding institutions and individuals who lead workforce nationalisation efforts. By doing so, it strengthens economic growth while supporting national goals.
Additionally, MoL officials explained that the award promotes healthy competition among private-sector organisations. It also recognises innovative pioneers and skilled national talent contributing to the labour market. This initiative complements the National Strategy for an Effective and Highly Productive Workforce 2024–2030. Consequently, it aims to increase Qatari employment in the private sector from 17 percent to 20 percent, benefiting around 15,400 citizens.
Since the strategy’s launch, the ministry has partnered with private companies to employ 7,861 Qatari citizens and children of Qatari women. Officials emphasised that competence, dedication, and innovation serve as pathways to achievement. Therefore, the award encourages individuals and institutions to turn challenges into opportunities.
The Qatar Nationalisation Award covers two main categories: institutions and individuals. Institutional awards honour recruitment, training, talent retention, and creating sustainable work environments. This year, seven institutions won for national talent recruitment and onboarding programmes for university and secondary school graduates.
Meanwhile, individual awards recognise Qatari citizens and children of Qatari women who excel in workforce nationalisation. Twenty-seven winners across nine sectors received awards based on professional levels: future national talent, outstanding national competence, and leadership excellence.
Moreover, the first edition of the Qatar Nationalisation Award demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to implementing top directives. It also strengthens private-sector participation and enhances national human capital. In addition, it supports Qatar National Vision 2030 goals of workforce growth, economic competitiveness, and sustainable development.
Overall, the Qatar Nationalisation Award motivates organisations and individuals to strengthen national workforce participation. Consequently, private-sector companies actively contribute to Qatar’s economic and social progress.
