Oman’s Hamat Programme Celebrates Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Hamat programme awards recognized Oman’s most innovative teams during the “Together Forward” forum. Moreover, the event highlighted creativity, entrepreneurship, and technological solutions across the Sultanate. It also provided a platform for innovators, researchers, and employees to present real-world solutions addressing community and economic needs.

The awards ceremony took place at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. In addition, winning teams showcased projects across three main tracks: Corporate, Governorates, and Research and Universities. Each track emphasized practical innovation and scalability, linking ideas to real sector challenges. Consequently, participants gained valuable exposure and mentorship opportunities.

In the Corporate Track, first place went to “Mubiin for Solutions” for smart data receivers optimizing water network management. Meanwhile, “Azdara” secured second place with an organic product enhancing seed growth. Third place was awarded to “Rabt” for an asset tracking device improving operational efficiency. These innovations demonstrate practical solutions for pressing sector needs.

The Governorates Track honored teams addressing tourism and agribusiness. “Al-Neim Camp” won first place with a model blending terrestrial tourism and interactive experiences. Furthermore, “Wa’oub” earned second place for mountain agritourism projects in Musandam. Third place went to “Dar Al-Qaydh,” reviving local agricultural and touristic identity. This track highlighted the connection between innovation and regional development.

Research and Universities Track recognized technology-driven solutions. “Digital Twin” received first place for transforming solar energy into predictive digital systems. In addition, second place went to Sultan Qaboos University for drone-controlled inspection devices. Third place honored “Mohammad Mahyub” for a drone vehicle operating in high-pressure pipes. These projects exemplify the integration of technology and practical application.

The Hamat programme awards aim to enhance Oman’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The initiative includes multiple phases: preliminary project screening, training camps, forums, and prototype development. From January to December 2026, the program supports participants in developing solutions into value-added projects. Thus, it strengthens the country’s long-term innovation capabilities.

Over 1,413 teams participated, representing various governorates, institutions, and research bodies. Then, the competitive process selected 90 teams for training, 38 for incubation, and 9 for the “Together Forward” forum. Selection criteria focused on solution quality, scalability, and relevance to sector needs. Therefore, the program ensures practical and impactful results.

The program also introduced a category for employees creating innovative solutions within their organizations. This approach promotes internal expertise and links operational knowledge with implementable technologies. Additionally, partnerships with academic institutions, government units, and Oman Investment Authority companies strengthened the ecosystem. Consequently, projects better meet practical sector requirements.

Ultimately, the Hamat programme awards reflect Oman’s commitment to innovation, economic diversification, and sustainable development. By connecting ideas with application opportunities, the program transforms creativity into tangible societal and economic benefits. Therefore, it continues to inspire the next generation of innovators nationwide.
