Oman Achieves 400% Boost in Digital Government Performance

The Oman government digital performance has surged by 400 percent since 2022, reflecting strong progress in digital transformation. Officials presented these figures during the fourth edition of the “Together Forward” forum, which focuses on transparency, dialogue, and national development. The forum provides a platform to share ideas, proposals, and visions to improve public services and economic growth.

During the event, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs emphasized the importance of citizen participation. He explained that feedback from society helps shape policies, enhance procedures, and support continuous national development. Additionally, the forum encouraged open discussion on economic strategies, labor market sustainability, and self-employment opportunities.

The Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology highlighted that digital government initiatives cover 1,600 projects across 57 government institutions. These include process re-engineering, electronic platforms, service improvement, and internal regulation, with approximately 75 percent already completed. Furthermore, satisfaction with electronic government services has reached 78 percent, offering 4,100 services to all citizens.

In addition, 32 projects within the National Program for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technologies aim to increase productivity across economic sectors. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion reported that 200 Omani companies exported products worth RO 500 million from 2024 to 2025. This demonstrates how digital and economic initiatives work together to strengthen the national economy.

The forum also highlighted small and medium enterprise development. Over 11,000 SMEs participated in international exhibitions last year, while 45,000 micro-enterprises and 14,000 home-based business owners entered the market between 2022 and 2025. Authorities emphasized the role of digital platforms in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.

Labor inclusion was another focus, with 2,500 people with disabilities employed in the private sector and 2,000 in the government sector. Officials plan to add 100 new opportunities for these employees, further promoting inclusive economic growth.

The forum reaffirmed that government transparency, citizen engagement, and digital transformation are critical to achieving sustainable development. The Oman government digital performance reflects not only technological improvement but also stronger collaboration between citizens and authorities. Through ongoing investment, innovation, and dialogue, Oman continues to modernize its public sector effectively.

Ultimately, the Oman government digital performance highlights the Sultanate’s commitment to efficiency, economic diversification, and inclusive development across all sectors.
