Kuwaiti Education Excellence Highlighted by Teacher and Student Wins

Kuwaiti education excellence shone brightly as a teacher and a high-school student won top GCC honors in 2025. The Ministry of Education announced the achievement, showing how Kuwaiti education excellence continues to gain recognition across the Gulf. Both winners excelled through a rigorous evaluation process, reflecting dedication and commitment.

Psychology teacher Huda Al-Mutairi from Awatif Al-Sabah Secondary School in Ahmadi earned the Distinguished Teacher award. She impressed judges with her innovative teaching methods and dedication to student development. Meanwhile, Hessa Al-Kakak, a student at Fatima Al-Sarrawi Secondary School in Hawally, won the Distinguished Student award. Her outstanding performance in academics demonstrated talent and hard work, representing the next generation of Kuwaiti education excellence.

The awards belong to the Hamdan bin Rashid Award for Distinguished Academic Performance. This initiative began in 1998 to improve educational standards in the Gulf region. Over the years, it expanded into regional and international partnerships. In 2018, the Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance formalized the program, followed by the Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences in 2023. These initiatives continue to promote talent development, innovation, and excellence across the GCC.

Education Minister Jalal Al-Tabtabaei personally congratulated both winners, praising their efforts and dedication. He emphasized that their achievement reflects the bright image of Kuwaiti education in Gulf forums. He also commended the ministry staff for preparing and supporting the nominations, highlighting teamwork and integrated efforts behind the success.

The Ministry of Education reaffirmed its commitment to fostering talent and excellence nationwide. It stressed ongoing programs to support teachers and students, ensuring the development of future leaders. Observers noted that these awards encourage educational innovation and inspire other students and teachers to pursue high standards.

The winners will receive recognition at a GCC-level ceremony in March, where top achievers from across the Gulf will gather. Their success not only celebrates individual achievement but also highlights Kuwait’s growing role in regional education. Through these efforts, Kuwaiti education excellence continues to strengthen and inspire broader educational progress.

The recognition of both teacher and student confirms that dedicated efforts and innovative practices can elevate Kuwait’s academic standing. While fostering talent, Kuwait ensures continued leadership and distinction in education across the Gulf region.
