Kuwait celebrated outstanding teachers and schools in a grand ceremony marking World Teachers’ Day. The event emphasized that teachers are the pillars of renaissance, a key phrase highlighted throughout the program. The celebration recognized educators’ vital role in shaping generations and strengthening national identity.

Additionally, the ceremony took place at the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Theater at Abdullah Al-Salem University in Shuwaikh. Education leaders, government officials, and teachers from across the country attended. They applauded the commitment of educators who develop curricula, guide students, and inspire learning.

The Minister of Education addressed the audience, noting the essential role teachers play in fostering knowledge, ethics, and national pride. He said that Kuwait’s policies focus on student achievement while ensuring teachers receive the support they need. Approximately 600,000 students benefit from curricula prepared and implemented by skilled teachers and supervisors. In this way, teachers are the pillars of renaissance in action.

Additionally, the minister outlined the Education Reform Plan 2025-2027. He explained it aims to improve school governance, expand digital learning, modernize infrastructure, and raise academic standards. He also emphasized that these reforms align with Kuwait’s vision for sustainable progress and that teachers remain central to achieving these goals.

Educators expressed gratitude for the recognition. Teacher Khalil Saud Al-Harbi stated that honoring teachers encourages them to maintain excellence and uphold values of national pride and ethical responsibility.

The event also featured a short film titled Leading Teachers, which highlighted Kuwait’s education history and the role of teachers in national development. Students performed May You Remain a Teacher, celebrating educators’ dedication. Commemorative awards were presented to outstanding teachers and schools, reinforcing the country’s appreciation for their hard work.

Through speeches, performances, as well as awards, the ceremony reminded everyone that teachers are the pillars of renaissance, essential to Kuwait’s growth and future. While honoring educators, the country reaffirmed that education is central to its progress. Teachers continue to inspire young minds and strengthen national values, ensuring a bright future for generations to come.
