Qatar Showcases Innovation and Investment at Lisbon Summit Ahead of Web Summit 2026

Qatar showcased its global technology leadership at the Lisbon Web Summit 2025. The official delegation emphasized Qatar’s role as a hub for innovation and investment. By highlighting its fast-growing tech ecosystem, Qatar showed it is ready to host the Web Summit in Doha in February 2026. The nation also aimed to attract startups and strengthen global partnerships.

The Qatari delegation included over 17 governmental and quasi-governmental agencies. Participants included the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Qatar Investment Authority, Invest Qatar, Qatar Development Bank, and Qatar Free Zones Authority. Leading universities and research institutions, such as Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Qatar Research, Development & Innovation Council, also joined.

Qatar’s pavilion at the summit promoted the “Start from Qatar” initiative. It showcased the nation’s collaboration between public and private sectors. Visitors explored investment incentives, startup success stories, and achievements in advanced technology. The pavilion offered an interactive space combining creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship.

The delegation also met with global partners to exchange ideas and strengthen strategic relationships. They learned best practices for managing large technology events. This preparation will help Qatar host a smooth and successful Web Summit in 2026.

Qatar’s thriving startup ecosystem drew attention from entrepreneurs and investors. They gained direct access to national programs in digital transformation, research, and development. The event proved Qatar’s readiness to host a major tech event. It also highlighted the nation’s long-term vision for growth in innovation and investment.

By participating in the Lisbon Web Summit, Qatar strengthened its position as a leading regional hub for technology and entrepreneurship. Its commitment to innovation and investment is expected to expand its global presence and encourage international collaboration.
