Bahrain and the United States have taken a major step toward stronger collaboration through a new memorandum focused on medical cooperation between Bahrain and the U.S. The agreement was signed between the Royal Medical Services of the Bahrain Defence Force and the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
This agreement strengthens training, research, and joint initiatives in military healthcare. It also allows national medical teams to learn from advanced American expertise. Through this partnership, both nations aim to enhance their medical readiness and improve patient care across facilities in Bahrain.
Brigadier General Sheikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa described the signing as a milestone in their long-standing partnership. He said this step highlights their mutual trust, friendship, and shared dedication to peace and well-being. Moreover, it reflects Bahrain’s vision to expand cooperation in key fields that directly benefit both nations.
He added that the newly launched Bahrain Medical Cooperation Program brings together medical teams from both sides. They will exchange skills, share experiences, and jointly prepare for emergencies. This program will boost efficiency in crisis response and ensure better health outcomes for military personnel.
Furthermore, the initiative underscores the values of dedication and compassion that define the medical corps. By encouraging innovation and learning, the program opens new horizons for collaboration. It also supports the development of an advanced medical system based on knowledge, partnership, and international cooperation.
Colonel Larry McCord praised the program, saying it represents a new era of medical cooperation between Bahrain and the U.S. He explained that it’s the first initiative of its kind in the Middle East. The program, he noted, will help military medical teams develop joint capabilities and respond faster to humanitarian missions.
McCord emphasized that the health and safety of personnel are vital for any military success. He also expressed optimism for future cooperation in training and research. He stressed that this initiative symbolizes mutual respect and the solid friendship linking both countries.
As a result, the new memorandum demonstrates Bahrain’s growing role in global medical partnerships. Above all, medical cooperation between Bahrain and the U.S. continues to strengthen regional security, build trust, and improve the quality of healthcare for both nations.
