The United Arab Emirates now offers a new visa allowing foreign nationals to explore work opportunities across the country. Introduced in late 2022, this jobseeker visa aims to attract young talent and skilled professionals, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to a flexible, modern labor market.
Through this visa, candidates can explore work opportunities without needing a host or sponsor. They may stay for 60, 90, or 120 days, providing sufficient time to meet employers and attend interviews. Moreover, this initiative signals a major overhaul of the UAE’s immigration and employment system, promoting efficiency and ease for foreign professionals.
To qualify, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. They should also fall under one of three skill levels defined by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Level 1 covers legislators, managers, and executives, while Level 2 includes scientific, technical, and humanitarian professionals. Level 3 consists of technical experts in similar fields. Additionally, graduates from the top 500 global universities in the last two years may also apply.
The application process remains straightforward. Candidates submit a valid passport, a photograph, and an attested degree certificate. Optionally, they may provide a return ticket and health insurance. Fees range from Dh1,555 for a 60-day visa to Dh1,795 for 120 days, including a refundable security deposit. Applicants already in the UAE may incur extra processing fees.
Government websites simplify the process further. On the GDRFA site, users select “Services,” then “Entry permit,” “Visit Visa,” and “Issuing a visit visa to explore work opportunities.” Meanwhile, the ICP website guides applicants to “Public Services” followed by “Explore work opportunities” to access all visa options.
Experts note that the visa will strengthen the UAE’s talent pool. By allowing professionals to explore work opportunities, the country enhances global competitiveness, encourages innovation, and supports economic diversification.
This jobseeker visa marks a major step in global labor mobility. Thousands can now explore work opportunities and contribute to the UAE’s ambitious growth plans.
