Oman Belarus cooperation took a major step forward during a two-day state visit to Belarus on October 6–7, 2025. Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Alexander Lukashenko held extensive talks to deepen economic, cultural, and educational ties between their countries. Both leaders emphasized shared goals to strengthen bilateral relations through strategic agreements and joint projects.
During the discussions, the leaders reviewed progress made since high-level visits in 2024 and 2025. They highlighted achievements in food security, agriculture, logistics, healthcare, and tourism. Both sides praised ongoing efforts to expand trade, particularly the supply of Belarusian food products, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and veterinary medicines to Oman. At the same time, they explored opportunities to introduce more Omani goods into Belarusian markets.
The leaders focused on Oman Belarus cooperation in industry, particularly joint projects for infant formula production, dairy processing, and machinery assembly in Oman. They agreed that these initiatives will boost bilateral economic growth by using Oman’s logistical advantages and upgraded infrastructure. Both countries also expressed readiness to expand investments in agriculture, information technology, furniture manufacturing, and pulp and paper production.
Additionally, the two sides welcomed the establishment of a Joint Committee for Cooperation and Investment. Signed in May 2025, this committee will coordinate activities between Omani and Belarusian entities and accelerate project implementation. Officials expect the committee to become a central platform for structured economic engagement.
Tourism featured prominently in the talks. Both countries praised the direct Minsk-Salalah flight route, launched in February 2025. They agreed to work together to increase mutual tourist flows and strengthen travel links.
Education and culture emerged as key areas of collaboration. The leaders emphasized the importance of developing educational exchange programs and cultural partnerships to bring their populations closer. They also encouraged stronger communication between business sectors and increased participation in exhibitions and national fairs in both countries. The recent signing of a mutual visa waiver agreement supports this goal.
Both countries reaffirmed their shared positions on major global issues. They agreed to cooperate closely within international organizations, uphold international law, and support a fair multipolar world order. They also opposed the use of unilateral sanctions.
Finally, the visit concluded with a commitment to develop practical programs and action plans that align with the joint communiqué’s objectives. The visit marked a turning point in Oman Belarus cooperation, setting a foundation for deeper economic, cultural, and political ties in the years ahead.
