Kuwait Soars as Host of Prestigious Emirates Falcons International Cup

Kuwait will proudly host a major new sporting event — the first-ever Emirates Falcons International Cup. Minister Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, who serves as Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, announced the exciting news. He expressed both national pride and personal happiness about Kuwait earning the hosting rights.

The Emirates Falcons International Cup will take place in December. Al-Mutairi shared the update after chairing the tournament’s first organizing committee meeting. He emphasized that the championship highlights the strong brotherhood between Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Their close relations continue to thrive under the leadership of both countries.

“This hosting is a source of great pride for us,” said Al-Mutairi. He described the event as a true reflection of the deep bond between Kuwait and the UAE. He also praised the UAE’s tireless efforts to preserve falconry’s heritage. Al-Mutairi commended the UAE Falcons Federation and its President, Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for their crucial role in promoting falconry. They helped globalize it as an Arab sport and protect it as a cultural treasure.

The International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing (IFFSR) will support the tournament. However, this global backing ensures the event attracts top competitors. Organizers have announced strong financial incentives, with total prizes worth about 500,000 UAE Dirhams, or 40,000 Kuwaiti Dinars. Such rewards promise fierce and exciting competition.

The inaugural Emirates Falcons International Cup in Kuwait marks a historic milestone. It strengthens cultural ties and celebrates a shared tradition. The event will showcase falconry on an international stage while honoring the friendship between two brotherly nations. The entire region eagerly awaits the grand event this December.
