Qatar Advances Digital Economy and Economic Cooperation

Qatar actively joined the 39th ICCD Board meeting and the Invest in the Digital Economy Forum in Amman, Jordan. Both events focused on digital economy cooperation across Islamic countries.

The Qatar Chamber delegation included Dr. Mohammed bin Jawhar Al-Mohammad, Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Jalil Al Abdul Ghani, and Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Emadi. Other officials joined to discuss regional development. Consequently, the gatherings strengthened Qatar’s role in promoting digital economy cooperation.

During the ICCD meeting, members explored ways to enhance economic collaboration among Islamic countries. Moreover, they shared expertise and supported joint development projects. Heads of chambers and unions from 16 Islamic countries reviewed the Chamber’s progress. These initiatives empower private sector organisations and support Muslim businesses, contributing directly to digital economy cooperation.

Participants also examined the action plan prepared by the General Secretariat. This plan relied on a study submitted by the Qatar Chamber previously. The study included three comparative analytical reports assessing performance against similar institutions. Furthermore, it outlined proposals for the organization’s future role, reinforcing efforts toward digital economy cooperation.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Mohammed bin Jawhar Al-Mohammad condemned the brutal attack on Qatar by the Zionist entity. He stressed that the attack happened while Qatar sought peace. Moreover, he reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to regional stability and constructive dialogue.

The Invest in the Digital Economy Forum provided a platform for policymakers, experts, and business leaders. Participants discussed digital transformation opportunities, investment prospects, and strategies to boost infrastructure. In addition, the forum emphasised collaboration to foster innovation, sustainable growth, and ongoing digital economy cooperation.

By participating in both the ICCD meeting and the Digital Economy Forum, Qatar reinforced its leadership role in regional economic integration. The country showcased its commitment to strengthening private sector capacity and supporting cross-border initiatives. These actions support Qatar’s broader goals of digital economy cooperation.

Overall, Qatar’s engagement highlighted its dedication to international collaboration, promoting digital investment, and driving regional economic growth. Through dialogue, knowledge sharing, and planning, Qatar builds stronger economic ties and advances digital economy cooperation among Islamic nations.
