Qatar digital innovation is gaining momentum as the country hosts MWC25 Doha, connecting the MENA region to the world. This event showcases Qatar digital innovation and the country’s commitment to empowering communities through technology and fostering international partnerships. Consequently, Qatar positions itself as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and economic growth.
GSMA CEO John Hoffman emphasized that MWC25 Doha highlights how Qatar digital innovation transforms societies, industries, and economies across the region. In addition, the conference joins global editions in Barcelona, Shanghai, Las Vegas, and Kigali, creating a worldwide technology network.
Moreover, MWC Doha brings together participants from diverse backgrounds, all sharing a passion for technology. Hoffman said the event reflects GSMA’s mission to unlock connectivity, enabling people, industry, and society to thrive. Furthermore, Qatar digital innovation demonstrates the country’s readiness to embrace new technologies and government-backed initiatives aligned with National Vision 2030.
The event focuses on three main themes reflecting global ICT trends. First, AI Nexus includes the Agentic AI Summit, AI-Powered Telco Summit, and AI Economy Summit. Second, Intelligent Economies features the Security Summit, 5G Futures Summit, and Intelligent Data Centers Summit. Third, Connected Industries covers the Open Gateway Summit, Fintech & Commerce Summit, Smart Mobility Summit, Satellite & NTN Summit, and IoT Summit. These themes highlight Qatar digital innovation in multiple sectors.
Currently, more than 60 countries participate in MWC25 Doha, and the number is expected to exceed 100. Hoffman highlighted Qatar’s excellent transportation, connectivity, and business opportunities, making it ideal for global partnerships. Additionally, GSMA signed a five-year partnership agreement, aiming to build long-term roots in the region.
Qatar will also host the 4th edition of the Smart City Expo Doha, organized by Fira de Barcelona. This event focuses on urban transformation innovations, sustainability, transport, energy, and urban management, further demonstrating Qatar digital innovation in practice. Moreover, the GSMA Digital Leaders Program will hold its first edition in the MENA region, following previous editions in Barcelona and Shanghai.
The GSMA Ministerial Programme, a leading platform for digital policy dialogue, will take place in Doha as well. Nearly 30 global delegations, including ministers, heads of regulatory authorities, and international organizations, have confirmed attendance. These initiatives further underline Qatar digital innovation and its regional and global influence.
