PAAET Restructures to Boost Efficiency and Meet National Goals

The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) is implementing a major reform. Dr. Hassan Al-Fajjam, the Director General, announced a new organizational structure. This initiative aims to significantly boost efficiency. The changes align with Kuwait Vision 2035.

Furthermore, the restructuring supports the authority’s own strategic plan. This plan covers the years 2025 to 2030. The ultimate goal is to raise performance levels. It also directs resources toward important national priorities. Dr. Al-Fajjam explained the rationale in a press statement.

The new model creates a leaner leadership team. Consequently, the Director General will now have the rank of Undersecretary. Importantly, he will be supported by only two deputies. This is a reduction from the previous five deputies. This streamlined approach is designed to boost efficiency across the authority.

One Deputy Director General will handle Academic Affairs, Development, and Innovation. The other will manage Institutional Support and Services. This clarity should enhance integration between departments. It will also simplify communication channels. Additionally, it will reduce costly administrative overlap.

The structure also introduces four new general departments. These departments will report directly to the deputies. They are Human Development, Academic Support, Institutional Support, and Services and Development. Each department will supervise several specialized divisions. This change strengthens governance and improves specialization.

For example, six departments will fall under Human Development. Another six will report to Academic Support. Institutional Support will oversee five departments. Meanwhile, Services and Development will manage seven. The authority merged several existing units. It also established new ones to focus on modern technology.

These new units include a Strategic Planning department. There is also an Assistant Director General for Digital Transformation. A new Cybersecurity Unit was created as well. These additions aim to advance the authority’s technological capabilities. Therefore, they directly help boost efficiency and security.

A new Skills and Creativity Center will identify promising talent. An independent Engineering Construction Department will oversee new facilities. The Quality Department received a new name and focus. It is now the Academic Accreditation Department. This shift aims to improve PAAET’s international standing.

An Assistant Dean for E-Learning was also appointed. This role will keep pace with global digital education trends. Finally, an Auctions and Investment Department was created. Its purpose is to maximize the use of authority facilities. It will also work to increase non-governmental revenues.

Dr. Al-Fajjam stressed PAAET’s commitment to continuous modernization. The new structure should improve education and training outcomes. It will also strengthen the preparation of national cadres. Ultimately, the changes build a flexible, market-responsive environment. This environment meets the demands of Kuwait’s future transformation.
