Youth Session Series in Bahrain Highlights Mental Health and Educational Reform

The Youth Session series in Bahrain continues to spotlight youth engagement in national policy discussions. These sessions align with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Organized by the Bahrain Scientific Centre for Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Population Fund, the initiative takes place at Youth City 2030. This youth-focused platform runs until August 13, 2025.

The Youth Session series in Bahrain promotes youth-led conversations on critical national issues. During recent sessions, participants tackled mental health and education reform through dynamic and structured dialogues.

The first session, titled “The Cascading Effect,” addressed mental health and emotional well-being. Young participants emphasized the need for a more supportive healthcare system.

They also proposed integrating mental health into national plans and boosting services in schools and universities. Additionally, attendees recommended awareness campaigns tailored to youth interests.

These suggestions aimed to break stigma, encourage dialogue, and build a culture of care and inclusion. Mental wellness was framed as a foundation for long-term national progress.

The second session, titled “Beyond the Textbook,” focused on educational development. Young participants and stakeholders discussed transforming the curriculum to match future demands.

They also called for a balance between theoretical learning and practical skills. Youth suggested adding critical thinking, experimentation, and creativity to classroom experiences.

Moreover, the session featured youth-led ideas for making education more relevant, engaging, and inclusive. These ideas reflected a strong understanding of how education shapes national growth.

The Youth Session series in Bahrain will continue with two more sessions on August 6 and 13. However, these final sessions will compile and present all recommendations to decision-makers.

By offering this platform, Bahrain empowers young voices to influence key sectors. These dialogues promote innovation, inclusion, and sustainable policy formation.

Overall, the Youth Session series in Bahrain stands as a model for engaging youth in long-term development. It helps transform ideas into actionable strategies for national improvement.
