Three trucks loaded with fresh produce recently traveled from Türkiye to Kuwait in just four days. This is a major leap forward compared to the old sea route, which took up to 45 days. The journey marks a successful trial under the TIR transit system.
Hasbayrak International Transport, a Turkish logistics firm, managed the first shipment on this new path. The trucks passed smoothly through Iraq, using the Al Abdali border and completing customs procedures at the Sulaybia Dry Port. The use of inland clearance points proved effective and efficient.
Additionally, this shift in trade logistics signals the reactivation of TIR in Kuwait. National customs authorities fully supported the initiative, streamlining procedures and reducing wait times at the borders.
