Qatar-France Economic Partnership Strengthened at Vision Golfe Forum in Paris

The Qatar-France economic partnership took center stage during the Vision Golfe forum held in Paris from June 17 to 18. The event brought together ministers, senior officials, and experts from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and France.

Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, represented Qatar. He joined French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Laurent Saint-Martin, in key discussions focused on regional cooperation.

The Minister highlighted the strong ties between Qatar and France. He noted that trade between both countries reached nearly QR11 billion over the past five years. Additionally, 574 French companies now operate in Qatar, showing growing trust and collaboration.

Dr. Al-Sayed emphasized that the Qatar-France economic partnership is vital for advancing infrastructure, supply chains, sustainable development, and global trade. He added that Qatar’s national strategies support economic diversification and encourage public-private partnerships.

Furthermore, he invited French investors to explore opportunities in Qatar’s free zones, Qatar Financial Centre, and Qatar Science and Technology Park. These platforms offer modern infrastructure, investment incentives, and global connectivity. Such initiatives aim to create a robust business environment that benefits both Qatar and France.

Importantly, the Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to fostering sustainable, long-term partnerships. He also stressed the nation’s regional role in promoting peace, economic growth, and diplomatic cooperation.

During the forum, Dr. Al-Sayed held bilateral talks with French officials. His meeting with Minister Saint-Martin focused on enhancing trade ties and exploring new avenues for joint investment. Both sides expressed optimism about expanding collaboration in emerging sectors such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and technology-driven healthcare.

The forum also featured sessions on critical themes. Topics included energy transition in the Gulf, water and waste management, AI and tech innovation, transport, and smart healthcare systems.

The Qatar-France economic partnership continues to thrive as both nations seek to align on development priorities and build resilient economies through innovation and collaboration.
