Women Essential to Sustainable Development, Says Al-Fakhri

Khalid Abdul Rahman Al-Fakhri, chairman of the Saudi National Society for Human Rights, emphasized the vital role of women in sustainable development on the occasion of International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8. In his statement, Al-Fakhri highlighted Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts to enhance women’s status through legislative and regulatory reforms. These reforms have significantly improved women’s rights and expanded their social and economic participation.

He explained that empowering women is crucial for enhancing social and economic stability. Furthermore, it plays a key role in advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Vision 2030 focuses on increasing women’s participation in the labor market and expanding their involvement in leadership and developmental sectors.

Al-Fakhri also called for ongoing efforts to raise societal awareness about the importance of women’s rights. He stressed the need for equal opportunities in all fields, reinforcing women’s critical role in the country’s development journey.
