H.E. Ayubkhan Yunusov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuwait, announced plans to host a major conference on February 16. The event will bring together 100 Uzbek businessmen. It is being organized in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The conference will feature an exhibition of Uzbek products and offer a platform for meetings between Uzbek and Kuwaiti business leaders.
In a statement, Ambassador Yunusov emphasized Uzbekistan’s plans to establish a regional center and main hub for Uzbek products in Kuwait. This initiative aims at facilitating distribution to neighboring countries. “We want to establish a large warehouse containing food, clothing, fabrics, leather, shoes, carpets, and other goods,” he said. Additionally, an Uzbek restaurant will also be opening soon in Kuwait.
The ambassador also reflected on the success of previous business forums, including the Uzbek-Kuwaiti business forum in May 2024. Another forum followed in August 2024 with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additional forums were held later that year in Tashkent and Fergana. These culminated in the first meeting of the joint committee in Tashkent in November. This meeting was chaired by Kuwait’s Minister of Finance Eng. Noora Al-Fassam. A subsequent visit by Kuwaiti businessmen to Uzbekistan further strengthened the growing bilateral business ties.
Ambassador Yunusov expressed hope that the upcoming conference and related initiatives would foster greater collaboration between the two nations. He also hopes to enhance economic relations.
