Terminals Astana Airport Limited, a subsidiary of UAE-based Terminals Holding, has signed a $1.1 billion investment agreement. The deal aims to develop a cutting-edge aerotropolis at Astana International Airport. Formalized with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport on May 13, it marks a major leap in transforming the capital’s airport into a global transport and logistics hub.
The project will create a modern aerotropolis in Kazakhstan, blending industrial zones with retail, hospitality, and logistics services. Plans include building a second runway, a third passenger terminal, and a dedicated cargo terminal.
In parallel, Kazakhstan and the UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure signed a memorandum of understanding. This move is to deepen collaboration in road transport. The partnership aims to boost knowledge-sharing, adopt international best practices, and improve road connectivity.
This ambitious effort positions the modern aerotropolis in Kazakhstan as a regional leader in aviation and logistics. It will strengthen ties between Central Asia and the Gulf. As construction progresses, the modern aerotropolis in Kazakhstan is set to become a cornerstone of economic and transport integration.
