UAE President Meets Guinea-Bissau Leader to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Abu Dhabi: The President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, welcomed Guinea-Bissau’s President, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who is on a working visit to the UAE.

The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations, particularly in key sectors such as economic development, trade, and investment. Discussions centered on aligning mutual interests with national priorities, aiming to foster growth and prosperity for both countries.

Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding opportunities for collaboration.

As a symbol of appreciation and friendship, Sheikh Mohamed conferred the Order of Zayed, the UAE’s highest honor for heads of state, upon President Embaló in recognition of his role in deepening ties between the two nations. In return, President Embaló awarded Sheikh Mohamed the Amílcar-Cabral Medal, Guinea-Bissau’s highest distinction, acknowledging his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations across various fields.

The exchange of honors reflects the strong partnership and mutual respect between the UAE and Guinea-Bissau, paving the way for greater cooperation in the future.
