Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia Mohammed Al-Buraithin welcomed Tunisian Umrah guests preparing to travel to Saudi Arabia. The delegation joins the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program, strengthening religious ties. The meeting took place at the Saudi Embassy in Tunis on August 29, before departure. Al-Buraithin congratulated the visitors and emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting pilgrims throughout their religious journey.
The Guests Program operates under supervision from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. Moreover, the initiative provides selected Muslims worldwide with organized opportunities to perform Umrah under official arrangements. A recent royal directive authorized the hosting of 1,000 male and female Umrah performers worldwide. Consequently, the program combines religious travel with educational, cultural, and historical experiences for selected participants.
During the meeting, Al-Buraithin highlighted the attention King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman give pilgrims. He also emphasized efforts to simplify religious rituals while maintaining high standards across services for visitors. Meanwhile, the Tunisian delegation expressed appreciation for Saudi hospitality and preparations surrounding their upcoming pilgrimage.
The visitors will travel to Makkah, where organizers have prepared several academic and cultural activities. In addition, the schedule includes visits to important religious and historical locations around the holy city. These include the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Holy Kaaba Kiswa and Revelation Exhibition in Hira Cultural District.
Afterward, the delegation will continue to Madinah and visit the King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex. There, guests can learn about Quran printing, translation, and distribution processes serving Muslims across different regions. The itinerary also includes Mount Uhud, Uhud Martyrs Cemetery, and Quba Mosque, among key religious destinations.
Tunisian Umrah participation also demonstrates how Saudi religious diplomacy extends beyond pilgrimage services and into international engagement. Furthermore, such programs create opportunities for cultural exchange while reinforcing connections between Saudi Arabia and Muslim communities.
