Kuwait’s domestic scholarship program has granted admission to 6,250 students for the 2025-26 academic year. The Private Universities Council confirmed the approvals on Saturday. Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, Minister of Higher Education, endorsed the selections, which include students with high school diplomas or equivalent qualifications.
Adel Al-Bader, Acting Secretary-General of the council, urged students to visit their assigned universities promptly. They must complete final registration steps and submit original academic documents. He emphasized compliance with scholarship rules to ensure academic stability and student success.
Earlier this year, Kuwait also accepted 3,167 students into its overseas scholarship initiative. The government allocates significant funding to both programs. In 2023, scholarship expenses reached KD 540 million, evenly split between domestic and international studies.
Students studying abroad receive monthly stipends adjusted for living costs in their host countries. This financial support helps ease the burden of education expenses. Meanwhile, Kuwait’s domestic scholarship program ensures quality higher education remains accessible locally.
All accepted candidates must check the Private Universities Council’s official website (www.puc.edu.kw) for their admission status. Al-Bader encouraged students to follow university schedules closely to avoid registration delays. He also praised their potential contributions to Kuwait’s future development.
With these opportunities, Kuwait continues to invest in its youth. The scholarship programs aim to build a skilled workforce capable of driving national progress. As the new academic year approaches, thousands of students are preparing to embark on their educational journeys.
Kuwait’s domestic scholarship program remains a key pillar in the country’s education strategy. By supporting both local and international studies, Kuwait ensures its students receive world-class training while strengthening the nation’s academic foundation.
