Riyadh is gearing up to welcome global leaders for a major international event focused on sustainable industrialization. From November 23 to 27, 2025, Saudi Arabia will host the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The announcement came during a promotional event in Vienna, held alongside the 53rd session of the Industrial Development Board (IDB).
The Kingdom’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources organized the event in partnership with UNIDO. Notably, Saudi Ambassador to Austria Dr. Abdullah K. Tawlah attended, along with representatives from member states and industry experts. Moreover, several Saudi entities showcased national initiatives, highlighting the country’s commitment to sustainable industrialization.
During the event, Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, emphasized Saudi Arabia’s dedication to multilateral cooperation. He also pointed out the Kingdom’s push for innovation and green manufacturing. Additionally, UNIDO Director General Gerd Müller praised Saudi Arabia’s leadership, stating that the conference will shape the future of industrial development.
The UNIDO General Conference serves as a crucial platform for discussing global industrial challenges. Key topics will include digital transformation, circular economies, and sustainable industrialization. Furthermore, the event aims to strengthen partnerships with developing nations, ensuring inclusive growth.
