The activities of the South Al Batinah Summer 2026 Forum have officially begun in the Sultanate of Oman, bringing together more than 1,000 children and young people from across the governorate for a structured programme aimed at skills development during the summer break.
Organised by the Office of the Governor of South Al Batinah in cooperation with the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth, the initiative will run until 2 July and focuses on building practical abilities in education, innovation, and personal development.
The forum targets two main age groups, children aged 8 to 12 and teenagers aged 13 to 16, with an equal distribution of 500 participants in each category. It is built around three core pillars: creativity, communication, and impact, designed to encourage initiative and strengthen community engagement among young people.
Activities are being held across several educational and sports venues in the governorate, including clubs and institutions in A’Rustaq, Nakhal, Al Musannah, and Al Awabi, as well as the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Musannah and the College of Education in A’Rustaq. The wide distribution of locations is intended to ensure access to diverse learning environments.
The programme includes workshops and training sessions in areas such as technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, culture, and sports. Technical training highlights include Python programming, prompt engineering for artificial intelligence systems, 3D printing, robotics assembly, and the “AI Pioneers” programme, alongside digital skills courses delivered in cooperation with local institutions.
Alongside the technical elements, the forum also features cultural and heritage activities aimed at strengthening national identity, in addition to sports programmes and awareness sessions on safety and first aid. Organisers say the initiative is designed to combine learning with practical experience, helping prepare young participants for future academic and professional pathways.
