Shura Council Reviews Qatar’s 2025-2030 Transport Strategy to Boost Sustainability and Innovation

The Shura Council, led by Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, met on Monday to review Qatar’s transport strategy for 2025 to 2030. Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani presented the plan, which supports Qatar National Vision 2030 and aims to create a smart, safe, and green transport system.

The Speaker praised the Ministry of Transport’s role in building and managing key transport sectors. He stressed that modern, reliable transport helps drive economic growth and improves people’s lives.

During his presentation, the Minister explained how the strategy focuses on using Qatar’s strong infrastructure to deliver better transport services. He noted that the Ministry is working to improve land, sea, and air travel.

To meet future needs, the Ministry will update tech systems, use smart transport tools, and apply artificial intelligence. These tools will help reduce traffic problems, lower pollution, and make travel easier for everyone.

One of the key updates includes the expansion of Hamad International Airport. The Minister shared that Concourses D and E have been expanded to serve more passengers and raise service levels.

He also talked about the Ministry’s efforts to form new global partnerships in aviation. These partnerships will help Qatar grow as a main hub for air travel and shipping.

The Council also reviewed updates on marine and public transport projects. These efforts aim to reduce road traffic, cut fuel use, and give people better ways to move around.

The Minister stressed that the government wants to build a smart, green, and reliable transport network. By planning carefully and using the right technology, the Ministry hopes to meet the country’s long-term goals.

The Shura Council welcomed the strategy and praised its clear vision. Members agreed that improving transport will help Qatar grow and stay connected with the world.
