Sharjah Cracks Down on Lane Violations Amid Surge in Offenders

Sharjah Police have recorded more than 30,000 lane discipline violations since new regulations started on November 1. The rules cover motorcycles, delivery bikes, buses, and heavy vehicles, aiming to make roads safer for everyone. Authorities emphasized that following these rules reduces accidents and improves traffic flow across the emirate.

Many drivers ignored designated lanes, causing traffic hazards. Heavy vehicles breaking lane rules face a Dh1,500 fine and 12 black points, while other drivers who disregard signs receive Dh500. Sharjah Police continue to enforce these rules rigorously to ensure compliance.

Officials rely heavily on technology to monitor roads. Smart radars and advanced cameras track violations, while traffic patrols actively intervene when drivers break rules. Authorities noted that consistent enforcement encourages responsible driving and protects vulnerable road users, especially motorcycles and delivery riders.

Lane violations have become a concern due to recent accidents. Police highlighted the importance of obeying traffic laws to prevent injuries and fatalities. They also coordinated safety campaigns with neighboring emirates to raise awareness among drivers. Officials urge transport companies to train drivers on correct lane use.

Sharjah Police stressed that proper lane use is essential for traffic efficiency. Following the rules reduces congestion and sudden braking, which lowers the risk of collisions. Drivers are reminded to plan routes carefully and respect all traffic signs. Continuous monitoring and enforcement aim to gradually lower lane discipline violations across the city.

Authorities confirmed inspections will continue year-round. They warned that compliance is mandatory and that enforcement will not ease. Officials believe that cooperation between drivers and authorities will create a safer environment. The police encouraged the public to adopt careful driving habits, reinforcing that safety starts with everyone.

Sharjah Police remain committed to maintaining road safety and order. They highlighted that responsible driving protects all commuters and enhances public confidence in traffic management. Authorities concluded by urging motorists to respect regulations, helping reduce lane discipline violations steadily over time.
