Saudi Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel met with Italian Minister of Health Prof. Orazio Schillaci in Riyadh on Saturday to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector and to exchange views on key topics of mutual interest.
Both ministers affirmed the depth of Saudi-Italian relations, emphasizing the role of the Saudi-Italian Strategic Partnership Council in broadening collaboration, particularly in healthcare.
Discussions centered on:
- Exchanging expertise and knowledge in medical practices and policy
- Collaborating in research, development, and innovation, especially in the use of technologies at the Virtual Health Hospital
- Coordinating efforts to enhance global health security and address emerging health challenges
During his visit, Minister Schillaci toured the command-and-control center and the Virtual Health Hospital, where he expressed admiration for the facility’s advanced digital and technical infrastructure and praised its achievements in remote healthcare delivery.
The meeting marks another step toward deeper cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Italy in building resilient, tech-driven healthcare systems for the future.
