Saudi Arabia Welcomes CATL’s Largest Middle East EV Aftermarket Hub

CATL has opened its first aftermarket facility in Saudi Arabia, marking a key step for electric vehicles in the Middle East. The Riyadh hub, CATL’s largest new energy aftermarket hub outside China, will transform battery servicing across the region. The centre offers complete support for EVs and energy storage, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s green mobility goals.

The 7,000-square-metre facility provides battery diagnostics, repair, maintenance, refurbishment, recycling, and professional training. It serves passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and large energy storage systems. By offering all these services in one location, CATL ensures reliable support for EV users.

This launch also supports Saudi Arabia’s plan to electrify 30% of vehicles in Riyadh by 2030. The goal aims to cut the capital’s emissions by 50% under Vision 2030. The Riyadh hub addresses local challenges, including limited charging stations and service networks.

Bruce Li, President of CATL’s Quality System, Aftermarket Business, and Battery Management System, said, “This is more than a service centre. It is a new energy aftermarket hub combining technology, training, and industry collaboration.” This statement highlights CATL’s aim to create an integrated EV support network.

The facility also includes training areas to develop local battery experts. CATL already operates ten global training centres and has certified over 9,700 aftermarket professionals through partnerships with technical institutions. Its NING SERVICE network now supports more than six million EVs worldwide and includes over 1,200 service stations in 76 countries.

In addition, CATL’s hub will boost local employment and skills in the emerging EV sector. The company combines advanced technology with practical training to improve sustainability and efficiency in EV operations.

By establishing this centre, CATL strengthens Saudi Arabia’s EV ecosystem and supports the wider adoption of electric transport. The Riyadh hub underlines the importance of professional services, training, and infrastructure in advancing the region’s EV industry. This new energy aftermarket hub sets a high standard for the Middle East, showcasing CATL’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and industry leadership.
