Saudi Arabia has firmly condemned recent statements by an Israeli official advocating sovereignty over the occupied West Bank. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the remarks as a clear violation of international law and UN resolutions.
The ministry emphasized Saudi Arabia’s firm stance against any attempts to legitimize Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories. It called on Israel to comply with international resolutions, stressing that unilateral actions undermine peace efforts.
“Settlements are illegal and threaten the viability of a future Palestinian state,” the statement read. The Kingdom also warned that such moves escalate regional tensions and obstruct a negotiated two-state solution.
Saudi Arabia further urged the United Nations and global powers to take decisive action against Israel’s unilateral measures. The Kingdom emphasized that without meaningful international pressure, such violations risk normalizing the erosion of Palestinian territorial rights.
“The world cannot remain silent while international law is systematically violated,” the Foreign Ministry stated, calling for an emergency review by the UN Security Council. This demand aligns with growing international concern over escalating tensions, as multiple countries have recently warned against policies that threaten the two-state solution’s feasibility.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. It endorsed the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital—a key demand of the Arab Peace Initiative.
The Kingdom urged the international community to intervene, holding Israel accountable for violations that destabilize the region.
This condemnation aligns with broader Arab and Islamic opposition to Israeli annexation policies. Analysts say Saudi Arabia’s firm stance could influence diplomatic efforts, including potential normalization talks tied to Palestinian statehood guarantees. As tensions persist, Riyadh continues advocating for a just and lasting peace one that ensures Palestinian rights while maintaining regional security.
