Saudi Arabia Renames Madinah Airport Road for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

Saudi Arabia renamed the main airport road in Madinah to honor Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. As a result, this 13 km road now carries the official name Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road. It connects the Prophet’s Mosque to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Road. In addition, it provides access to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport and the Royal Terminal.

The road plays a vital role for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims. Therefore, it ensures smooth travel between the airport and one of Islam’s holiest cities. Moreover, it serves daily commuters and visitors throughout Madinah. Furthermore, the road links to the city’s three main highways: King Faisal Road (1st Ring), King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Road (2nd Ring), and King Khalid Road (3rd Ring).

The governor of Madinah, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, highlighted the crown prince’s contributions to regional and national development. He explained that Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road reflects the crown prince’s broader impact on infrastructure and urban planning in Saudi Arabia.

Several development projects are already underway along the road. For example, authorities are building vehicle and pedestrian tracks and improving safety measures. Additionally, a rehabilitation project is ongoing for Wadi Qanat, a key valley in Madinah. These projects aim to improve traffic flow and enhance accessibility for residents and pilgrims.

The renaming emphasizes Saudi Arabia’s commitment to leadership and national development. Similarly, it reflects Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s vision for modern transport infrastructure. As a result, improved road connections allow travelers to move efficiently between Madinah’s key landmarks.

Officials noted that the upgraded road will reduce congestion during peak pilgrimage seasons. At the same time, integration with major highways improves connectivity across Madinah and nearby regions. Moreover, urban planners are coordinating with transport authorities to meet long-term mobility and safety standards.

In addition, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road will serve as a model for future infrastructure projects. The road enhances access for pilgrims while simultaneously supporting economic and tourism growth in the region.

In summary, Saudi Arabia renamed Madinah’s main airport road as Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road. Consequently, the road links the airport, the Prophet’s Mosque, and three major highways. Furthermore, ongoing projects enhance safety and ease travel for pilgrims and visitors.
