Saudi Arabia Embraces Istituto Marangoni to Boost Fashion Education

Saudi Arabia advances fashion education in Saudi Arabia with new Istituto Marangoni campus. The Italian fashion school opened its doors in the Riyadh Creative District, inside the King Abdullah Financial District. This move strongly supports Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a global fashion hub.

Firstly, the school offers specialized programs developed with the Saudi Fashion Commission. These programs merge Saudi cultural heritage with modern global fashion trends. Students study fashion design, accessories, fashion communication, management, digital media, and cosmetics management. Moreover, the school awards a three-year advanced diploma, accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.

Additionally, Stefania Valenti, managing director of Istituto Marangoni, emphasized the significance of this launch. She explained the Riyadh campus symbolizes commitment to international education, cultural exchange, innovation, and empowerment. Valenti added that the fashion design program includes sewing and modest fashion pathways, reflecting local aesthetics. Meanwhile, the communication course focuses on visual storytelling for local and global audiences.

Furthermore, Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission, praised the campus as a key milestone. He highlighted how the school builds a sustainable talent pipeline for Saudi Arabia’s fashion ecosystem. By combining global standards with local identity, students will share authentic Saudi stories on international stages. In addition, the initiative aims to diversify the economy, create jobs, and establish Saudi Arabia as a cultural exchange hub.

Also, 50 students will receive scholarships through the Ministry of Culture’s Fashion Commission. After two years in Riyadh, students can continue their studies at Istituto Marangoni campuses in London or Paris to earn a bachelor’s degree. Thanks to the school’s global network and industry links, graduates will find jobs with local or international brands.

In conclusion, fashion education in Saudi Arabia will empower young creatives, boost the economy, and promote cultural innovation. Ultimately, the Riyadh campus marks an exciting chapter in Saudi Arabia’s growing fashion industry.
