Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned Israel’s new initiative aimed at displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on March 24, 2025, expressing its rejection of Israel’s recent actions in the region.
The Ministry emphasized that Israel’s establishment of an agency to manage the relocation of Palestinians violates international law. This new agency is tasked with overseeing the “voluntary departure” of Palestinians from Gaza, according to Israeli authorities. The plan has raised significant concerns due to its potential to displace thousands of families.
Saudi Arabia specifically rejected Israeli actions that disregard both humanitarian and international laws. In the statement, the Kingdom noted that Israel’s actions in Gaza, including its decision to create this agency, would only worsen the already dire situation for Palestinians. The Israeli security cabinet approved the agency’s formation in late March 2025.
Over the past year, Gaza has seen severe violence and destruction. Since late 2023, Israeli military operations have led to the deaths of over 50,000 Palestinians. Furthermore, nearly 1.9 million people in Gaza have been displaced, adding to the growing humanitarian crisis in the region.
In addition to condemning the new agency, Saudi Arabia also criticized Israel’s approval of 13 new illegal settler outposts in the West Bank. This move, according to Saudi Arabia, is part of Israel’s broader plan to legitimize settlements in occupied territories. Saudi officials reiterated that lasting peace can only be achieved when Palestinians are granted their rightful independence and a state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Saudi Arabia’s condemnation highlights the growing tensions between the Kingdom and Israel over the treatment of Palestinians. The Middle East continues to face instability as these issues remain unresolved.
