Riak Leads Al Khor to Commanding Victory Over Qatar Club

Doha, Qatar – Al Khor delivered an emphatic 74-55 victory over Qatar Club in a crucial Qatar Basketball Federation Men’s League match at the Al Gharafa Sports Club court. Despite being at the bottom of the standings, Al Khor dominated from the start, securing a much-needed win.

Dominant Start Sets the Tone

Al Khor came out strong, taking control early in the game. Youssef A. Y. Yagoub played a pivotal role, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and five assists. His efforts helped Al Khor establish a commanding 22-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Deng Makauc Riak was the standout performer, leading Al Khor’s scoring with an impressive 29 points. His contributions ensured that Al Khor extended their lead in the second quarter, outscoring Qatar Club 17-12 to take a 39-24 advantage into halftime.

Al Khor’s Relentless Charge

The third quarter saw Al Khor continue their offensive onslaught while Qatar Club struggled to keep pace. With Riak leading the charge, Al Khor added 21 points to Qatar Club’s 11, widening the gap to 60-35 heading into the final period.

Qatar Club made a late push in the fourth quarter, with Serbian player Dejan Janjic, Kolako Amadou Konate, and Georgios Mykonaitis leading the fightback. They managed to outscore Al Khor 20-14 in the last frame, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

Standout Performances

Riak dominated both ends of the court, adding nine rebounds and six assists to his 29-point haul. Christos Bratsiakos contributed 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists, while Saoud Haji chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

For Qatar Club, Janjic delivered a solid performance with 28 points, seven rebounds, and an assist. Konate provided 11 points and eight rebounds, while Mykonaitis added seven points and seven rebounds.

League Standings and Future Outlook

Despite the victory, Al Khor remains at the bottom of the league table with 16 points from two wins. Qatar Club sits slightly ahead with 18 points. With the season progressing, both teams will need to step up their performances to improve their standings.

Al Khor will look to build on this momentum in their next fixture, while Qatar Club aims to bounce back from this setback. As the league intensifies, every game becomes crucial in the race for a better finish.
