In a major step towards enhancing public transport infrastructure, the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has introduced a new city bus service — the Orange Route. This introduction is part of its Transport Master Plan 2030.
The 13-kilometre route runs from Al Nakheel to the Main Bus Station in South Al Dhait. It passes through several key locations in the city. With its launch, Ras Al Khaimah’s internal public transport network now spans 99 kilometres.
The Orange Route strengthens connectivity by linking all four main city routes. It offers a more integrated and seamless travel experience. Designed to improve accessibility and reduce travel times, the service aims to attract more residents and visitors to use public transportation.
Passengers will benefit from stops at eight major destinations: Al Nakheel, Julphar Towers, Al Sadaf Roundabout, Driving School, Post Office, Clock Roundabout, Flamingo Beach, and the Main Bus Station in Al Dhait South. Each one-way trip takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
The route operates 20 trips daily, running from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with each journey priced at Dh8.
RAKTA says the new service reflects its commitment to building an efficient, affordable, and user-friendly transport system. This aligns with Ras Al Khaimah’s broader urban development goals.
