Dubai Police have revealed the locations of both stationary and mobile Iftar cannons for Ramadan 2025. The “Ramadan 2025 changes” include more sites for this long-standing tradition, which marks the end of each fasting day. Every evening, at the Maghrib call to prayer, these cannons fire a shot to announce Iftar.

Traditional Iftar Cannons Return

Dubai’s Iftar cannons have been a key part of Ramadan for decades. The cannons fire twice on the eve of Ramadan and once daily throughout the month. On the first day of Ramadan, they fire two consecutive shots to welcome the holy month. They also fire two shots to announce Eid Al Fitr and again after Eid prayers.

  • Expo City Dubai
  • Burj Khalifa
  • Festival City
  • Uptown
  • Madinat Jumeirah
  • DAMAC Hills
  • Hatta Guest House

Ramadan Start Date and Fasting Hours

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a time for fasting from sunrise to sunset. Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, and other activities until Iftar. The “Ramadan 2025 changes” also include moon-sighting efforts on February 28 to confirm the exact start date. However, based on the Hijri calendar published by Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), Ramadan is likely to begin on March 1, 2025.

With “Ramadan 2025 changes” shaping daily life, residents can look forward to new traditions, revised schedules, and a deeper spiritual connection
