QIIB Secures Global PCI-DSS Certification for 10th Year in a Row

QIIB has earned the prestigious PCI-DSS certification for the tenth year in a row. This achievement reflects the bank’s dedication to safeguarding customer data and applying the highest standards in cybersecurity.

The certification, granted by international firm SISA, acknowledges institutions that uphold strict data security protocols. It also highlights QIIB’s commitment to maintaining a secure payment environment amid growing digital threats.

During a ceremony at the bank’s Grand Hamad Street headquarters, CEO Dr. Abdulbasit Ahmed Al-Shaibei received the award from SISA Founder and CEO Dharshan Shanthamurthy. Key executives from both organizations attended the event, emphasizing its importance.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Al-Shaibei noted that QIIB’s focus on data protection is long-term and strategic. He explained that the bank prioritizes innovation while embedding security into every layer of its operations. “Our investment in digital protection builds trust and ensures continuity,” he stated.

Furthermore, he pointed out that customers today expect robust protection for their private data. “We aim to exceed those expectations by creating a secure and seamless banking experience,” he added.

Over the past decade, QIIB has aligned itself with the latest updates in information security. Specifically, it complied with version 4.0.1 of the PCI-DSS certification, demonstrating flexibility and forward-thinking in a rapidly evolving digital environment.

SISA CEO Dharshan Shanthamurthy congratulated QIIB on maintaining its high cybersecurity standards. He said, “QIIB’s commitment to the PCI-DSS certification shows that it continues to lead by example in the banking sector.”

In addition, he praised the collaborative partnership between QIIB and SISA, calling it a model for the industry. “Together, we’re working to advance cybersecurity across the region,” he said.

Importantly, QIIB applies these standards not only to its payment systems but also across its entire technological infrastructure. This comprehensive approach ensures a higher level of resilience and preparedness against cyber threats.

As digital banking continues to grow, QIIB remains focused on proactive security strategies and long-term customer protection. The bank will continue evolving with new technologies while upholding the strictest standards of data privacy and security.
