In a stunning performance at Meydan Racecourse, Qatar’s Wathnan Racing celebrated a landmark victory. Hit Show, ridden by Florent Geroux and trained by Brad Cox, clinched the prestigious $12 million Dubai World Cup.
The thrilling 2,000-meter dirt race saw Hit Show unleash a powerful late surge. He overtook Mixto, piloted by legendary jockey Frankie Dettori, in the final furlong. This allowed him to capture the top spot in one of the most anticipated events on the global horse racing calendar.
A total of 11 elite contenders competed in the race. However, pre-race favorite and Saudi Cup champion, Forever Young, was unable to meet expectations, finishing third. Walk of Stars secured fourth place. Meanwhile, Ushba Tesoro, the seasoned eight-year-old competitor, placed sixth after breaking from stall four.
The victory marks a significant achievement for Wathnan Racing, reinforcing Qatar’s growing presence and success in the international equestrian scene.
