Qatar’s Digital Economy Grows Through AI Innovations in Food-Tech Sector

Qatar’s digital economy is gaining momentum, fueled by the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the food-tech sector. As part of the country’s strategy to diversify beyond hydrocarbons, local startups are launching AI-driven services that enhance efficiency and support national health goals.

Qatar-based food-tech startup Dieture has introduced an AI-powered assistant tailored for the nutrition and healthy meal subscription industry. “This assistant improves customer service in real time. It’s a first in this segment,” said Nuwaid Pocker, CEO of Dieture.

The AI assistant allows users to ask questions about meal plans, book appointments with dietitians, and request callbacks instantly. It offers both voice and text support in over 20 languages, including Arabic, making it accessible for Qatar’s multicultural population.

In addition, the tool connects directly with Dieture’s CRM system. This real-time integration enables agents to retrieve and update customer records during the conversation. With this innovation, users receive timely, personalized guidance, helping them manage dietary goals more effectively.

Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) expects Qatar’s digital economy to contribute at least 3.2% to the country’s GDP by 2030. This development aligns with the government’s Smart Qatar (TASMU) program, which promotes the use of smart technologies across various sectors.

The AI tool is designed not just for automation, but also to offer meaningful, scalable support for preventative healthcare. Dieture plans future enhancements, including integration with wearable fitness trackers and mobile wellness applications. These upgrades aim to provide even more personalized and data-driven nutrition advice.

Market analysts predict that the GCC’s health-conscious food delivery market will exceed $5 billion by 2027. Qatar’s regulatory support and advanced digital infrastructure are key factors driving this growth.

Entrepreneurs and experts alike view these AI-powered innovations as vital to transforming the country’s digital services. “This is more than a customer service upgrade. It’s a national step toward healthier living,” added Pocker.

Ultimately, these advances reflect how Qatar’s digital economy is reshaping health, food, and technology—ensuring long-term economic sustainability through smart innovation.
