Qatar Trade Cooperation with Nepal Gains Strong Momentum

Qatar has emphasized its growing economic relationship with Nepal, focusing on expanding opportunities across diverse sectors. The latest discussions highlighted the potential of Qatar trade cooperation, underscoring mutual interest in building stronger commercial ties.

During a meeting in Doha, Qatar Chamber board member Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli met with Chandra Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Both sides reviewed ways to expand cooperation, activate the Qatari-Nepali Joint Business Council, and create new platforms for investment.

Al Obaidli stressed that Nepal remains an important partner due to its large population and attractive investment opportunities. He also pointed out that Qatar aims to boost its presence in Asian markets, which offer significant growth potential. He added that Qatar continues to position itself as a hub for business and investment, particularly in banking, digitalization, and trade.

Meanwhile, Dhakal praised Qatar’s rapid progress in infrastructure and its ability to attract global investors. He encouraged Qatari companies to explore opportunities in Nepal, especially within tourism, mining, and services. He further explained that Nepal provides foreign investors with a range of incentives designed to encourage partnerships.

Importantly, both sides stressed the need to activate the Qatari-Nepali Joint Business Council. This body can facilitate regular business meetings, enhance cooperation, and unlock new opportunities for entrepreneurs from both nations. By doing so, they hope to expand collaboration, increase knowledge exchange, and create projects that benefit both economies.

Furthermore, the discussions reflected Qatar’s broader strategy to diversify investments while strengthening its role in Asia. With growing interest in new markets, Qatar seeks to support private sector expansion while securing long-term partnerships abroad. Similarly, Nepal views Qatar as a strategic partner for investment in its emerging sectors.

In conclusion, the meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing Qatar trade cooperation. Through closer collaboration, both countries aim to expand investment, enhance economic growth, and build sustainable partnerships. Clearly, the future of Qatar trade cooperation promises stronger connections and greater opportunities for businesses across both nations.
