Qatar will host MWC Doha for the next five years. This makes history as the first country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to do so. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announced this major achievement. This strengthens Qatar’s role in global digital innovation.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai and GSMA CEO John Hoffman. The signing took place on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. Senior GSMA officials attended the ceremony.
Minister Al Mannai highlighted the importance of MWC Doha as a global platform for collaboration. He emphasized that the event will drive digital transformation and reinforce Qatar’s position as a leader in technology and innovation. This initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and supports the country’s long-term digital development strategy.
“Hosting MWC Doha for five years marks a significant milestone for the region. It reflects our dedication to advancing digital solutions and strengthening our ICT sector. It will open new opportunities for growth and innovation,” Minister Al Mannai stated.
