The State of Qatar actively participated in the second Asir Investment Forum, held in Saudi Arabia’s Asir region on May 26 and 27. The event, themed “Asir Flourishes,” brought together top officials, business leaders, and investors from across the Gulf and beyond.
Representing Qatar, Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah led a high-level delegation. It included representatives from the Ministry of Municipality, Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, and Barwa Real Estate Group. Their presence highlighted Qatar’s commitment to strengthening strategic ties through the Qatar Saudi investment forum.
Notably, the forum served as a major platform to exchange knowledge in urban planning, sustainability, and investment opportunities. The Qatari delegation showcased the country’s successful urban development experience, especially following the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. These efforts emphasized the nation’s dedication to integrated infrastructure and environmental balance.
Furthermore, during the event, Minister Al Attiyah met with Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Asir Region. He also held discussions with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al Khateeb and Minister of Communications Abdullah bin Amer Al Swaha. These meetings opened new avenues for cooperation in smart city planning and public services.
At the forum’s ministerial session, Qatar shared insights into sustainable growth strategies. Al Attiyah underlined how large-scale projects like Lusail City and Msheireb Downtown Doha reflect Qatar’s human-centered design philosophy. These projects prioritize livability, cultural identity, and green development.
Moreover, the Qatar Saudi investment forum aimed to support Saudi Vision 2030, which aspires to attract 10 million annual visitors to the Asir region. By aligning their goals, both countries are working together to boost tourism, infrastructure, and regional prosperity.
Qatar’s participation in the Qatar Saudi investment forum reaffirms its commitment to Gulf unity. It also showcases a shared vision for long-term development, backed by innovation and collaboration. This ongoing cooperation promises greater regional integration and a sustainable future for all stakeholders.
