Qatar Ranks Among Global Leaders in ICT Development Index 2025

Qatar ranks among global leaders in ICT Development Index 2025, solidifying its position as one of the world’s most advanced digital economies. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) published the latest results in its annual report. This confirms Qatar’s exceptional progress in digital infrastructure and technology integration.

Qatar achieved a remarkable score of 98.4 out of 100 in the 2025 edition of the ICT Development Index (IDI). This strong performance reflects the country’s focus on improving digital access, quality of service, and effective technology use. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology highlighted that this score aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030. Additionally, it corresponds with the Digital Agenda 2030.

According to the report, 99.7% of Qatar’s population uses the internet, and 98.7% of households have internet access. In terms of mobile coverage, 100% of the population is covered by at least a 3G network. Furthermore, 99.8% by a 4G/LTE network. Mobile phone ownership stands at 98.5%.

These statistics underline Qatar’s commitment to digital transformation. The government continues to implement initiatives that enhance connectivity, promote innovation, and attract international investment. The country has evolved into a regional digital hub, supported by strong infrastructure and data monitoring systems.

The Qatar ranks among global leaders in ICT Development Index 2025 milestone also reflects a clear connection between digital progress and sustainable economic growth. The Index, composed of ten indicators across universal and meaningful connectivity, ranks 164 economies globally. Qatar’s score places it among the top 47 countries. Their scores range between 90 and 100.

While global digital performance continues to improve, especially in low-income countries, disparities remain. Affordability and digital literacy still pose challenges in several regions. However, the Arab States—including Qatar—maintain an average score of 78, with Qatar leading the way.

The ITU report reaffirms patterns seen in recent years. Countries in the early stages of digital transformation continue to grow the fastest. Still, advanced economies like Qatar demonstrate that consistent investment and policy alignment yield long-term digital success.

Ultimately, Qatar ranks among global leaders in ICT Development Index 2025 due to its visionary approach to digital development and inclusive connectivity.
