Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held talks with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on efforts aimed at supporting mediation between the United States and Iran, according to the Qatar News Agency.
The discussions focused on regional diplomatic initiatives and ways to back Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran during a period of heightened tensions across the Gulf.
Officials reviewed ongoing coordination efforts intended to encourage diplomatic engagement and reduce the risk of further escalation in the region. The talks also covered broader cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait in several areas.
During the conversation, Al Thani stressed the importance of continued dialogue and engagement between all parties involved, describing diplomacy as essential to reaching a lasting understanding between the US and Iran.
The latest developments come as Gulf countries continue to closely monitor negotiations linked to Iran’s nuclear programme, sanctions and maritime security, issues that directly affect regional stability and global energy routes.
Pakistan has recently increased its diplomatic involvement in efforts to facilitate communication between Washington and Tehran as part of wider international attempts to prevent further tensions in the Middle East.
