Oman Forecasts Hotter Weather and Less Rain in August

Oman is expected to experience hotter-than-normal conditions and reduced rainfall throughout August, according to the latest seasonal outlook issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre said temperatures across the Sultanate are forecast to remain above the long-term average, while rainfall is likely to be lower than normal during the month.

The forecast is part of the CAA’s seasonal outlook covering August through October 2026, which provides an early assessment of expected weather patterns to support long-term planning.

The authority said the monthly bulletin is designed to help government agencies, businesses and the public prepare for anticipated climate conditions by offering a broad outlook for the months ahead.

However, it stressed that seasonal forecasts should not replace regular weather updates. Residents and organisations are advised tocontinue following short- and medium-range weather bulletins for the latest information and more accurate day-to-day forecasts.

The CAA issues its seasonal outlook each month as part of it efforts to improve preparedness and support informed decision-making across sectors that may be affected by changing weather conditions.
