Qatar Hosts Iran US Pakistan Diplomatic Talks

Diplomatic discussions involving Iran, the United States, Pakistan and Qatar have taken place in Switzerland, with Doha playing a mediating role in the ongoing talks, according to Iranian officials.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said representatives from the four countries were scheduled to participate in a quadrilateral meeting focused on regional and international issues.

According to reports, meetings between the Iranian delegation and Qatari mediators are already underway in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, ahead of further sessions involving other participating delegations.

Baqaei said that following discussions with Qatari mediators, a separate meeting between Iranian and Pakistani representatives is expected to take place.

He added that the talks include a range of issues of concern to Tehran, including regional conflicts and the question of frozen Iranian assets.

The negotiations, which are expected to continue for one day, also involve broader discussions linked to Iran’s nuclear programme.

Qatar’s involvement reflects its continued diplomatic role in facilitating dialogue between regional and international actors on sensitive geopolitical issues.
