The fifth edition of the Qatar Economic Forum, powered by Bloomberg, successfully concluded in Doha last week, drawing major international attention. Held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the event brought together decision-makers from across the globe.
Over three days, more than 3,000 delegates from 90 countries gathered for discussions on global growth, climate action, innovation, and regional cooperation. The forum featured 120 speakers—including world leaders, CEOs, and policymakers—who contributed to more than 40 insightful sessions. Consequently, it became a hub for strategic thought and future-focused dialogue.
Significantly, the event produced tangible outcomes. More than 20 Memoranda of Understanding were signed, while over 300 bilateral and multilateral meetings took place. This level of engagement highlighted the forum’s role as a bridge for cross-border collaboration.
In addition to these developments, more than 280 journalists from over 80 media outlets provided extensive coverage. As a result, the forum’s influence reached a global audience, further solidifying Qatar’s role in shaping economic discourse.
Meanwhile, Media City Qatar, the forum’s official partner, signed key strategic agreements to boost Qatar’s media and creative economy. One agreement with Microsoft will advance digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and training in the media sector. Another partnership with Qatar Development Bank is set to enhance creative industries by fostering innovation and nurturing global talent.
Bloomberg Media also announced its expanded presence in Doha through an upgraded studio facility. This move follows five years of successful partnership and underscores the importance of continued collaboration.
During the closing ceremony, Sheikh Dr. Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani stressed the importance of dialogue and long-term partnerships. He noted that such platforms help nations stay ahead of economic and technological shifts. Likewise, Bloomberg CEO Karen Saltser praised the forum’s role in advancing open, honest global discussion.
Finally, the forum concluded with a curated networking event hosted by Media City Qatar. This session brought together leading voices from media, tech, and the creative sectors—paving the way for deeper cooperation in the years ahead.
