The State of Qatar has strongly denounced reported plans by Israeli occupation-linked platforms to bomb and demolish the Al-Aqsa Mosque. They intend to replace it with a so-called Temple. Qatar called the move a “dangerous provocation” amid the continuing conflict in Gaza.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the proposals as a serious violation. They stated that it could fuel further violence across the region. The ministry reiterated Qatar’s firm rejection of any attempts to alter the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem, and its revered Islamic sites.
Qatar called on the international community to act urgently to halt Israeli aggression. They urged global powers to compel Israel to uphold its responsibilities under international law and ensure protection for holy sites.
The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. They expressed commitment to establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This aligns with international legitimacy and the two-state solution.
