Qatar Condemns Israeli Army for Shooting at International Diplomatic Delegation in Jenin

The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation army for opening fire on an international diplomatic delegation. This occurred during a visit to the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a clear violation of international law, diplomatic norms, and the principles of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep concern over the escalating aggression. Specifically, they were concerned about Israeli forces’ aggression against civilians and members of the international community. The ministry emphasized that targeting diplomatic missions is a serious breach of the 1961 Vienna Convention, which ensures the protection and immunity of diplomatic personnel.

Qatar called on the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities in the face of repeated Israeli violations. The statement urged global powers and international organizations to confront Israel’s ongoing transgressions. It also recommended taking concrete action to hold it accountable under international law.

“The international community must not remain silent in the face of such acts that endanger diplomatic envoys and violate universally accepted agreements,” the ministry said. It further added that these actions undermine efforts to establish peace. Furthermore, they escalate tensions in an already volatile region.

This is not the first time that Qatar has criticized Israel’s actions in the occupied Palestinian territories. Doha has consistently voiced its support for the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people. They have called for an end to the occupation and for adherence to international legal frameworks.

Qatar reiterated its firm stance in supporting all diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. It called for immediate measures to protect diplomatic personnel. This would help ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.

The incident in Jenin has sparked outrage among human rights groups and foreign diplomats. It further highlights the urgent need for international intervention and accountability.
