Qatar Cabinet Approves US MOUs with FBI and Homeland Security

The Qatar Cabinet approves US MOUs with major American agencies during its latest weekly meeting at the Amiri Diwan. The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, addressed several high-level decisions.

To begin, the Cabinet extended warm Eid Al-Adha greetings to the Amir and the Qatari people. Officials expressed wishes for health, progress, and prosperity under the Amir’s leadership.

Next, the Cabinet reviewed multiple legislative and international cooperation topics. One of the major highlights was the Qatar Cabinet approves US MOUs related to security and law enforcement.

The Cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Qatar’s Ministry of Interior and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation. This MoU aims to boost security cooperation between both nations.

In addition, another MoU was approved between Qatar’s Ministry of Interior and the US Department of Homeland Security. This agreement supports preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026, ensuring strong international collaboration.

Moreover, the Cabinet endorsed a law enforcement cooperation MoU between Qatar’s Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and the US FBI. These agreements highlight Qatar’s commitment to global security partnerships.

The Qatar Cabinet approves US MOUs not only with the US but also with several other countries. For instance, it approved legal cooperation with Albania’s Ministry of Justice. Similarly, it endorsed joint legal efforts with Egypt’s Public Prosecution.

In the field of culture, the Cabinet supported an MoU between Qatar Museums and the Hong Kong Palace Museum. This agreement aims to protect and preserve global cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet reviewed the Grievances Committee’s reports from the Qatar Financial Markets Authority. It also assessed a recent UN Commission session on women, which Qatar participated in this March.

Lastly, the Cabinet approved an MoU with Tunisia to enhance customs cooperation and curb violations. It also noted the Shura Council’s decision to extend Mowasalat’s taxi operation concession.

Through these decisions, Qatar continues to strengthen international ties and enhance its domestic infrastructure.
