Qatar is intensifying its diplomatic efforts to help defuse the ongoing India-Pakistan crisis, reaffirming its commitment to dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. On Wednesday, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held separate phone calls with leaders from both India and Pakistan.
During a call with Indian Minister of External Affairs Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, both officials discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation. They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the India-Pakistan crisis, emphasizing the importance of resolving disputes through diplomatic channels.
Likewise, the Qatari Prime Minister spoke with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. Their conversation also focused on enhancing bilateral ties and supporting peaceful efforts to reduce escalating tensions in the region.
In both calls, Qatar expressed deep concern about the current situation between India and Pakistan. The Prime Minister underscored Qatar’s full support for all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution. He reiterated that meaningful dialogue remains the best path forward for ending hostilities.
Furthermore, Qatar emphasized that diplomatic engagement and mutual understanding are key to resolving long-standing disputes. By stepping up its mediation role, Qatar seeks to foster stability and cooperation across South Asia.
These developments highlight Qatar’s ongoing role as a trusted mediator in global affairs, particularly in promoting peace between countries with complex and sensitive histories.
